What new colors in the prism of our imagination can bring light to the somber questions of today’s conscience? This transitional period of history brings new dimensions of form to the tropes of our collective experience and requires us to examine our intimate relationships.
In my work, various themes of American masculinity are used to create a series of fumbling and occasionally violent narratives. Men take center stage as provocateurs of chaos that bring humiliating and occasionally aggressive scenarios. Using a method of synthetic painting derived from the imagination, each work plays with the associations of form, color, and referent to bring tragicomedy to uncomfortable places, integrating modern life's conflicts both large and small.
